Island
Information
There are many sites on the World Wide Web that give you detailed
information about St. Maarten / St. Martin attractions, including beaches,
nightlife, hotels, timeshare condos, villa rentals, bars, shopping, touring,
and so on (and on and on).
We think the biggest and most popular is travel writer Jeff Berger's site,
www.jmbcommunications.com/sxm.html. It has pictures, maps, hundreds of
links, and answers to an unending number of questions.

Some other answers to commonly asked questions:
1. It's warm all year long. Hotter in the summer but trade winds make it
entirely bearable. VERY Summerish even in midwinter.
2. Food: American, Caribbean, French, Creole, inexpensive sandwiches,
expensive gourmet restaurants. We have everything, even McDonald's (only one
on the whole island). Pizza, sushi, Chinese, and practically anything else
you want.
3. Shopping: great bargains island-wide.
4. Beaches: all kinds, busy, quiet, convenient, harder to get to,
traditional and clothing-optional.
5. A passport is the best identification, though some people bring birth
certificates with raised stamps. (We recommend passports.)
6. Check Jeff's site. It should answer just about everything else.
